BRP RENAUD is reorganizing its antitrust law team. Associate Simon Gollasch is joining the firm as of today, followed by Partner Dr. Simon Schmauder on 1 October. Both previously practiced at OPPENLÄNDER and will now lead the antitrust law practice group at BRP RENAUD.
Dr. Simon Schmauder has extensive expertise in German and European antitrust law. He advises on complex mergers and supervises merger control proceedings, including investment review and EU third-country subsidy control, while also representing plaintiffs and defendants in large-scale proceedings involving antitrust damages. In addition, he advises on antitrust law issues associated with distribution, cooperation and licensing agreements, as well as compliance-related issues. Simon also brings in-depth knowledge of American antitrust and litigation law.
“I am excited to be joining the renowned and nationally recognized business law firm BRP RENAUD and to continue and expand the antitrust practice together with my new colleagues,” says Simon. “Our conversations have shown that we not only share a common mindset – providing specialized and high-quality advice in the best interests of our clients – but also get along extremely well on a personal level.”
Simon Gollasch advises on all aspects of German and European antitrust law. He specializes in the judicial enforcement of claims for damages and injunctive relief arising from antitrust law violations. He also advises and represents clients in proceedings relating to fines and merger control before competition authorities. In addition, Simon assists enterprises with compliance-related issues and internal investigations, with a particular focus on risk analysis and prevention.
“We are delighted to have Simon Schmauder and Simon Gollasch join us, both recognized specialists who will continue our antitrust law practice in a new constellation and provide valuable additional expertise,” says Dr. Thomas Glöckle, Managing Partner at BRP RENAUD.
“Both bring experience relevant to our business law practice – particularly in connection with complex transactions, regulatory proceedings, and the litigation of antitrust claims. They are a wonderful addition to our team, both professionally and personally, and we are happy to welcome both at BRP RENAUD in Stuttgart.”Dr. Martin Beutelmann and Hendrik Howaldt, who previously made up the antitrust law team, left BRP RENAUD at the end of August. The firm would like to thank Martin for his many years of commitment and for his contributions to building the antitrust law team. We would also like to thank Hendrik for his excellent work.
BRP RENAUD will continue its antitrust law practice with a new team, which will be seamlessly integrated into the firm's business law structure while remaining closely integrated with corporate law/M&A, litigation, public procurement law, and compliance.
